About Bradford CVS

---

Bradford Community & Voluntary Service (formerly Bradford Council for Voluntary Service) is an umbrella body for voluntary organisations in Bradford. Our role is to develop, support, promote and represent the interests of the voluntary and community sector.

We do this by:

- helping groups of local people to work together on things that concern them, such as childcare, health and improving the area in which they live
-   providing advice and services to voluntary groups to enable them to be more effective
- promoting to the Council, the NHS providers and to Government Agencies, the role of community groups in improving people's lives

Bradford CVS is a registered charity - no. 1090036 and a company limited by guarantee no 4283003.  It is governed by a Board of Trustees elected by the membership at the AGM.

Membership

There are three types of Membership available:

Full membership is open to voluntary agencies working in the Bradford area - we currently have around 350 full member organisations. Whilst our services are not confined to our members, membership does give certain benefits and rights:

- reduced levels of charges for some CVS services
-   one free copy of each issue of the CVS newsletter Briefing Bradford (10 issues a year)
- the right to nominate individuals to stand for election to the CVS committees
- the right to vote at the annual meetings and other general meetings

Non-voting Associate Membership is available to public and statutory bodies and not for profit organisations which are not eligible for full membership.

Individual membership is open to ... individuals!

To become a member of Bradford CVS contact us (details below) for an application form.

Equal Opportunities

Bradford CVS supports the principle of equal opportunities in its employment practice, service delivery and through its role as advocate for the wider voluntary sector. We are committed to providing services for everyone, regardless of age, colour, race, disability, religious belief, HIV status, marital status or sexual orientation. We expect that all member groups will be actively committed to the improvement of equal opportunities.
