VCS Impact Survey

Could you please take the time to complete a short online survey concerning your organisation, it's resources, role and reach at this point in time. You may well react with an 'oh no, not another one!', but I cannot stress enough the importance of the information that we are trying to gather and the need for you to respond quickly.

The voluntary and community sector (VCS) faces extremely uncertain and challenging times at present - with the effects of the economic downturn translating into reduced charitable giving, decommissioned services and, consequently, into huge threats to the existence of many of you.

We at Young Lives Bradford have designed a questionnaire to gather information about how your organisation makes a difference to the lives of children, young people and families within the Bradford district. Young Lives Bradford recognises that this is a vital time for the sector to demonstrate its contribution to the lives of local children and young people, and in support of this, we will be using the information you provide us with to build a collective picture of the social worth of the VCS to key decision makers in the District. Make no mistake - this is our survey! For your peace of mind, we can assure you that the individual information you supply will NOT be disclosed but will be combined with all the other responses to provide an overall picture.

We have also written a draft position statement that shows how we will use the information to take to partners. It's value will be strengthened if every group in our network makes a return. When we have gathered the information we shall ask for your commitment to the principles enshrined in the document. Meantime, we ask you to take the survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/T3XD2HZ. It is short and should only take up to 10 minutes at most. We think it might be the most important 10 minutes you could spend for the benefit of your organisation and all the others in our network at this time.

We have one other request. We are looking for a number of case studies to support the case for the VCS. If you feel that you would like to provide us with a case study that shows positive outcomes for an individual child or young person - or for a group of children or young people - then please contact me directly at kerr@bradfordcvs.org.uk Real names of beneficiaries will be changed.
