Informing the voluntary sector - the CVS Information Service

The Bradford CVS Information Service operates a library and enquiry service for and about the voluntary sector. Whether you are a volunteer, management committee member, student or local authority worker, the Information Service can help you.

Ask us if:

- you want to find out the contact details for local groups
- you want contact details of national organisations
- you want to know whether there is a voluntary group to help with your particular illness or difficulty

Library

We have a library of materials on a wide range of topics, including:

- setting up and running voluntary groups
- the law relating to voluntary organisations
- charitable status and charity law
- fundraising and grant making bodies (we have all the key directories)
- management and evaluation
- employment law
- health and safety
- a specialist collection of training materials, including videos for loan 
- list of voluntary sector trainers and training courses
- a wide range of periodicals
- background and statistical material about the voluntary sector

and much much more......

Much of the material is for reference only, but some of it can be loaned for short periods.

Publications

We produce a regular newsletter, Briefing Bradford - Current and back copies  copy and publication dates - advertising and insert costs. We also produce a range of information sheets and databases.  For full details see our publications list.

How to make use of the service

- You can visit us any time during our opening hours. The library has seating for four people. There's no need to phone in advance, but you may wish to check that there will be someone around to help you.

- Write to us or email cvs@bradfordcvs.org.uk and ask for the information you need.
